What started as an after-school gig in the late-90s is now a thriving pet care business with over 25 years in the industry, serving more than 5,000 clients and 10,000 pets from Washington D.C. to Frederick, MD.

Our

Story

Pet and Home Care founder Tiffany Lewis started walking dogs in her Potomac neighborhood when she was a junior in high school. With a combination of hustle and word of mouth, her little side gig after school turned into a full-time job. By 2002, her client list grew to the point that Tiffany had to hire her first team member. Today, PHC employs more than 50 pet sitters, resort attendants, and office staff spread out across Maryland’s Montgomery County and Frederick County.

Our professional team of caregivers subscribes to our core values of reliability, trustworthiness, and empathy. Pet and Home Care has your tail covered by loving your pets as if they were our own and by treating your home with respect.

Our

Team

Pet and Home Care hires only the most reliable pet sitters and support staff to give your pets the love and attention they deserve. All team members are bonded and insured employees. We do not use contractors!

All PHC team members are required to complete:

We are always on the lookout for animal enthusiasts to join the team. If you or someone you know would love to work with pets, we encourage you to apply!

The Management Team

President & CEO

Tiffany

As a teenager, Tiffany’s dream of becoming a veterinarian was cut short when she realized that she could not handle performing surgeries or euthanasia on the animals she holds so dearly in her heart. Instead, Tiffany got into pet sitting. She found it more rewarding because the animals are always happy to see her. This passion for animal care pushed Tiffany to started Pet and Home care in 1999 at the young age of 17. She has professionally cared for thousands of animals including reptiles, horses, and goats.

In April 2018, Tiffany welcomed a healthy and active baby boy named Everett. He adores all animals and their Shih Tzu Millie. She hopes to include Everett in the business as he grows. Tiffany enjoys many hobbies including hiking, yoga, cooking, attending cooking classes, caring for Everett, reading, and anything related to the growth and betterment of her business.

Her favorite part of being a momtrepreneur is providing much-needed services to customers and knowing that the animals are receiving great care. She loves providing affectionate care to the animals and helping her employees grow.

Fish

Fish joined the Pet Resort team in March 2022 with over 15 years of pet care experience. Their role includes ensuring everyone has a fun day, going above and beyond to meet each dogs’ unique needs. Fish treasures the relationships built with the dogs and seeing the joy in their faces when they see their friends. Knowing they will get to make new friends makes Fish’s heart happy!

Currently, Fish and their partner share three cats, one dog, and four ferrets. While growing up, Fish learned to care for sheep, horses, chicken, geese, turkeys, a feral cat colony, rodents, snakes, fish, cats, and dogs. They believe their experiences on the farm helped make their animal care skills versatile and adaptive. Additionally, Fish worked in professional pet care as a sitter and kennel technician. They have also worked alongside professional groomers, dog trainers, and veterinarians, giving them exposure to various dog-related situations. They hope to further their pet care career by attending dog training academies to enhance their knowledge in canine behavior and group/pack management.

Fish recommends all pet parents read Reaching the Animal Mind by Karen Pryor. Pryor’s understanding of animal behavior changed how they engage and understand animals. Fish encourages everyone to read Pryor’s work and believes our dogs appreciate our efforts!
